The Cornish Fishmonger's fresh mussels thrive in the wet weather. They are unbeatably delicious, and especially plump at this time of year, benefitting from being grown in our crystal clear cold Cornish waters for maximum flavour.

Like most shellfish, mussels really don’t need a long cook time – a few minutes steamed in the sauce just enough to open their shells will mean you’ll get the most tender meat.

Their meat is bright orange and very flavoursome – anyone in the know with mussels uses an empty shell as a pair of tongs to get the meat out of the others.
