Wing of St Mawes, who also operate the popular “The Cornish Fishmonger” home delivery website has been recognised with a total of seven golds in this year’s Taste of the West Awards – including one for every smoked product they produce.

The Cornish Fishmonger’s Smoked Haddock; Smoked Kippers; Smoked Mackerel Fillets; Smoked Mussels; Smoked Rainbow Trout; Smoked Salmon and Fish Pie Mix were all independently judged by experts, who decided to give them all top honours.

The latest accolades join the company’s existing Taste of the West “Online Retailer of the Year” award, as well as their “UK Fishmonger of the Year” award in the Great British Food Awards for the second year running.

Rob Wing, founder and owner of Wing of St Mawes said: “We are elated with this recognition for our very own ‘Magnificent Seven’.

“As a second-generation Fishmonger, we’ve spent the last 40 years perfecting what we do. I am confident these latest awards will enhance our mission to promote the quality and sustainability of Cornish fish, as well as supporting the many families who rely on our local fishing industry.”

The company supply seafood to hotel, restaurant and hospitality businesses across the country, alongside home customers across the UK through their website TheCornishFishmonger.co.uk.

Wing of St Mawes operates from a state-of-the-art facility in Indian Queens, where all their smoked seafood is created in small batches to a long-standing family recipe. Fish is bought from local markets every morning, as well as shellfish from dayboats who operate on the north and south coasts of Cornwall.

Rob added: “Thank you to our dedicated team for their hard work and support, which enables us to win awards such as these.”
