Lemon & Cayenne Crab Delight

Fresh, flaky crab gently mixed with lemon, cayenne, and buttery seasoning for a bright, lightly spiced spread. Smooth, zesty, and effortlessly elegant—perfect on toast, crackers, or as a simple starter.

Ingredients

  • 400g crabmeat
  • Large pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Zest and juice of ½ lemon
  • 300g butter
  • Fresh parsley leaves, to decorate 

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine the crabmeat, cayenne pepper, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper
  2. Spoon the mixture into 8 small ramekins or 1 large dish, pressing down lightly to compact.
  3. Melt the butter gently in a saucepan, then pour over the crab until covered with a thin layer of butter. Top each with a parsley leaf, if desired.
  4. Leave to cool, then chill in the fridge until set. (It will keep for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.)
  5. For picnics or travel, transport in a chiller bag to prevent the butter from melting.
