Fresh mussels from the River Fowey are delivered to us each day by David and Sue. These Cornish mussels are bursting with flavour and are great value. We even pack an extra 10% free to allow for any losses in transit. Live mussels will open and close on their own and they will also still have the beard attached.
Mussels are a great source of important vitamins; with levels of iron and folic acid to rival red meat. Mussels are also a rich source of zinc.

LandedThanks to our long term relationship with David and Sue from Fowey, our mussels are grown in the deep, clear, clean waters of St Austell bay, we believe these just can't be beaten. When Fowey mussels are not available we will use shellfish from Padstow.
- Storage & Preparation
Storage & PreparationStore live shellfish in the salad drawer of your refrigerator and cover with a damp teatowel. Do not immerse shellfish in water. Discard any molluscs that do not open or close when tapped and rince under a running tap before cooking to make sure there is no grit in them. Live shellfish has a limited shelf life - consume as soon as possible from the date of delivery. Do not keep for longer than 3 days.
