At home, monkfish is fabulous pan fried and served alongside something punchy and crunchy but it’s very versatile and the options are endless.

With a face only a mother could love, monkfish are one of the ugliest looking sea creatures out there. However, it’s what’s inside that counts, and monkfish are no exception.

With its beautifully firm and meaty flesh often dubbed ‘poor man’s lobster,’ monkfish are a staple in restaurants up and down the country, often appearing in fish curries or alongside elements of pork, like ribs and black pudding, whose saltiness complements the natural flavour of the fish.
