THE BEST OF BRITISH AT NUMBER 10

Prime Minister David Cameron expressed his pride in Britain's food industry at the 10 Downing Street launch this week of Food is Great showcasing what the country has to offer. Rob Wing was fortunate enough to be invited as ambassador for the fish supply industry and for his work with sustainable fishing practices in Cornwall. More than 150 of the finest chefs, restaurateurs and food producers in Britain attended the reception backed by the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

The Downing Street visitors included former World's 50 Best Restaurant winners and also leading chefs from across the globe represented the essence of British food, playing a key part in attracting tourists and businesses to Britain. Six celebrated chefs: Raymond Blanc, Brett Graham, Ruth Rogers, Atul Kochar, Angela Hartnett and Fergus Henderson, appeared in a short campaign film promoting British restaurants around the world.

Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said: "From traditional fish and chip
shops to gastro pubs and Michelin starred restaurants, the variety and quality of British food is incredible. Rob spent the afternoon meeting all the celebrities chefs like Greg Wallace, Raymond Blanc and Jame Martin and has even talked a few of them into coming on a fish market trip with us in the early hours of the morning - perhaps that wouldn't sound so appealing once the wine wears off!
