26 Flavours of Cornwall

If you're escaping to Cornwall this summer then add Trebah Gardens' 26 Flavours of Cornwall exhibition to your must-do list. It's a series of 26 artistic pieces created in collaboration with designers and writers inspired by Cornwall's wealth of food and drink. The Cornish Fishmonger is proud to be supporting it.

The 26 writers working on the project include best-selling novelist Patrick Gale, Trebah's award-winning poet in residence, Caroline Carver, and the highly acclaimed Falmouth-based poet Penelope Shuttle. Amongst the designers are illustrators, fashion designers and mural artists, as well as many leading graphic designers. They have drawn on techniques ranging from photography and light sculpture to some innovative typography, including lettering carved from fudge.

Call us biased but we were pleased to see crab chosen as a flavour. Writer Fiona Thompson and designer Paul Betowski joined us for a morning to pick crab and learn a thing or two about this wonderful Cornish flavour. If you'd like to see the results click here to visit the 26 Flavours of Cornwall website.

Trebah Garden's award-winning Planter's Café, is serving dishes drawing on the 26 flavours throughout the show which runs from 1st to 26th July. We hope you can make it!
