Chilli Ginger Steamed Mackerel

A platter of warm and delicious mackerel steamed with Asian spices.

  1. Boil the rice in a pan of boiling water on a medium heat. Sieve through when it is cooked.
  2. Cut the mackerel into small pieces across the length of the fish.
    Place the fish on a plate and mix with the sliced ginger. Place the fish and ginger mix in a steamer and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, heat up some oil in a sauce pan. Throw in the fresh chilli and fry for 10 seconds, remove the pan from the heat before adding the dark soy sauce.
  4. When the mackerel is cooked, pour the chilli and oil over the dish and serve with fresh basil and rice.
