The largest of the flat fish, halibut has a beautifully mild sweet tasting flesh with a firm but tender texture. We fillet the halibut and cut it into approx. 160g boneless portions, to arrive individually vacuum packed and frozen.
Even though halibut is not classed as an 'oily fish' it is a great source of essential Omega3 oils; important for brain-power and concentration.
Wild fish is available in the summer months in good volumes and in lesser amounts in other seasons. Farmed fish is available year round.
Halibut fillet can be baked, grilled, poached, pan fried or roasted. Try pan frying slowly until coloured, finishing cooking in a hot oven. De-glaze the pan with white wine, fish stock and cream.
Our fish is landed daily and comes in all different sizes - just as nature intended! Our prices are given in 'weight per kilo' and where possible we are able to offer a price per portion. We will do our best to get your order as close to the kilo weight as possible and always within a 20% variant to the size you choose.
