Raw extra large frozen king prawns, graded at 8 to 12 prawns in the box (that's around 6" long). These Prawns have a deep green shell that turns deep pink when cooked. For more informationon king prawns click here.
Split the prawns down the middle, drizzle or brush with a little olive oil and grill or pan fry. Try spreading Tapenade Provencale and use as a marinade before cooking.

Firm and tasty
Kirstie, Innerleithen - These arrive rock hard encased in frozen salty water and so can be popped in the freezer for another day. I defrost them immersed in water; snap off the heads to make a rich prawn stock (remove the stomach sack) for a risotto. I split the shells down the back; remove the black vein; brush with olive oil and cook for 4mins or so turning them over half time (until they turn bright pink) on a red-hot cast-iron ridged pan. Delicious eaten with your fingers dipped in garlic olive oil with crusty bread and a salad.
